Nothing. Next blog.
Only kidding, I have lots of keyboard action to go yet, before I am finished with you. I have done some minimalist images before, but mainly these have been long exposures where the moving water (usually) loses all form and detail, however, I have been impressed with some of the snow scenes on Instagram which achieve the same effect using high key exposures to
scorch your eyes out disguise unnecessary detail in the image and leave a more graphic and minimalistic result.
Yesterday, on the hunt for deer with their antlers in velvet, the reflection of the overcast sky was washing out the lake in the deer park, revealing some minimalist opportunities at the edge of the water. I hope you enjoy. As a side benefit of these images I also learned the difference between a moorhen and a coot. I had to do that to prevent looking a little silly if I was to describe one of the images as a nesting moorhen. It is a coot. But you probably knew that anyway.
This last one I call “Pi in the sky”. Clever, huh?
