Yesterday was a busy day reorganizing rooms, and I totally forgot to post. I did set my mind to thinking of an appropriate lyric, but did I see it through? No, of course not.
Stupid thing is that there was something really good to post about, instead of my normal ramblings. Two of my grandchildren have a condition called pseudo-achondroplasia, which is a form of dwarfism, as does their father. Makes it easy for us to hide things on the top shelf, but it is a real pain for them, literally. Erin, one of said grandchildren, decided to raise money for the charity LPUK (Little People UK) – click to follow the link and find out more.
Her target was to raise 100 GBP by cycling 10 times round the running track, or 4000 metres. At the end of that most 9 year olds will be out of breath a bit. Erin will be in agony with her legs, unable to walk for a while and eating painkillers all afternoon. So, yes, it is a big deal. It is a bigger deal than just throwing yourself out of an airplane and having fun doing so.
I am giving a link to the Just Giving page, where you can see she has healthily beaten her target and sponsorship is standing at over 750GBP so far. To say we are immensely proud is an understatement
The link to the page is HERE , to learn more of what it means. And as this is a photography blog after all, here are a few photos: Click to enlarge, as usual – and if you want to donate please do not let me discourage you…
