Donkeys, and then home

The end of the break. It was not even a weekend because all days are the same now I am retired.  Did I mention I am retired? Did the title of the blog itself give the game away? Bliss.

So, after breakfast and settling the bill, we started for home.  The route took us past the donkey sanctuary in Sidmouth, which we have been meaning to visit for ages.  When I say “we”, I mean Julie of course.  Julie has two main loves; donkeys and dolphins, and bears… she has three main loves; donkeys, dolphins, and bears, and tea. Julie has four main loves… but still she never expects the Spanish Inquisition.

Unbelievably the donkey sanctuary is free to park and to get in. the pasties are good, there are loads and loads of donkeys, and mules.  the mules have the most amazing ears, really fluffyOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

There is also a section for blind donkeys, and those with failing sight. Donkeys pair off for life, and if one if the couple is blind, the other one will often lead it around by pulling its collar.

Finally a couple of hillside shots
